The
Computer Group is currently suspended because of lack of numbers!
The
first few meetings established the members' requirements which were
essentially:-
Using
the Internet combined with how to use
Emails, Photography, Word processing and eventually Spread-Sheets.
The
initial meetings were successful with an attendance of
18 to 20.
We
have had a course on creating web pages and
information on Internet
Service Providers (ISPs) and a FREE Programme to
upload your Website files to your chosen ISP
-
'Core FTP Lite'. (
gets your website onto the
Internet and allows you to edit the website)
There has to be sufficient interest before the next course can start.
Here is my proposed course syllabus for the first five weeks of a new
course:-
1 An introduction to operating systems
including
saving and locating files.
2 Using the help facilities for the
operating system
and using help on general applications.
3 Using the word processor formatting
documents and
including embedding pictures within documents.
4 Using Photo editing software.
5 Using the internet, adding attachments,
saving
incoming attachments, setting up a structured filing
system for emails.
In order to maintain a continuity in the computer course and to be fair
to all who book to attend, it would be necessary to pay in advance.
The cost depends on the number attending. Assuming only 10
people
signed on for the course we would have to charge £23.00 per
head,
including VAT,
for 5 weeks.
Please advise me as soon as
possible if you are interested.
