The group
meets regularly once a
month on Thursdays at my house, but more often at busy times of
the year when we are preparing for a sale of cards and other gifts.
There are eight members in the group, most of whom do cross stitch but
some prefer
tapestry, embroidery on painted silk and other crafts.
We have sales of cards about twice a year and with the
proceeds we
are able to buy more materials for future sales. We also make special
cards for special occasions but for these we require a month's notice.
In 2014 we were able to send £120 to
Macmillan Cancer Support and in 2015, we sent £125 to the Tree
House Unit at Stepping
Hill Hospital. In 2015 we had an article published in the High Peak
Review reporting on our knitting for Nepal project- see below.
