Programme for 2019
PROJECT FOR YEAR – DISPLAY OF PHOTOS AT A MONTHLY MEETING – POSSIBLY OCTOBER – SUGGEST EITHER - WE EACH HAVE AN INDIVIDUAL DISPLAY OF OUR FAVOURITE PICTURES, OR WE EACH CHOOSE A THEME FOR OUR OWN DISPLAY. The January competition “ Bridges” results were:- 1. Derek - Knaresborough 2=. Walter – Prague (Charles Bridge) and Jeff – Bourton-on-the-Water3. Walter – Giethoorn (Holland).Next competition in March is “Pubs”! A group of 7 (now augmented with Chris and Bryan) had the March meeting on “Pubs”. Bryan's Dandy Cock, Disley was 1st, with Diane's Flying Pig, Bowness 2nd, and Walter's Crown, Hawk Green 3rd. In May we will have a photoshoot in Stockport, combined with a competition “Mountains”. Later in the year, in October the group will have a display at the October monthly meeting, where we can each show our favourite pictures. May saw the group visit Stockport on a photoshoot, searching for interesting pictures of Stockport old and new. Afterwards we collected in the Old Rectory to choose the best Mountain pictures. The results were:- equal 1st Diane - Hahnenkahn, Kitzbuhel, and Jeff - Loch Katrine, Scotland; 3rd Jeff - Grisedale Tarn/St. Sunday Crag. Walter Mason In July we had two competitions. First on “Lakes and Pools”, 1st Derek – Sandringham; 2nd Equal Jeff – High Lane and Walter – Gawsworth; 3rd Dianne – Finland. Second on Stockport ( from our May group photoshoot ), 1st Walter – Warren Street; 2nd Equal Brian – Viaduct and Bob Mealhouse Brow.
The September competition of “Street Furniture” was a success for Diane and Derek. First equals Diane – Postbox in Cochem, Germany; Derek – Array of Lights, Salford Quays; 2nd Derek – red Postbox; 3rd Diane – Bear, Berlin. Prints for the October display were collected.
The November competition of “Leaves” was again a success for Jeff. First equals Jeff– Lyme Park; Jeff – Marple Canal ; 3rd Derek – Houseplant leaves. We then spent time discussing plans for next year, which included preparing a calendar for 2021.
