You said that you should bid 2 Hearts. This is correct. In the transfer convention, you bid the suit above the one you want your partner to bid, and you want to be in Spades.

Sort out the hands from this situation and play the contract in 2 Spades, with West being the declarer, and East the dummy. You might also like trying to play it out in No Trump to see if that is easier or more difficult.
