The Matinee Club covers the 4 U3A branches in our area --- High Lane, Romiley, Marple, and Marple Bridge & Mellor. The club was started several years ago before Marple Bridge & Mellor was formed and on inception were invited to join in.

The club visits theatres as far afield as Stratford, the Lake District, Theatre Clwyd and the New Vic in Newcastle under Lyme, as well as The Lowry, The Crucible, The Royal Exchange, The Library Theatre, Bolton Octagon and the Buxton Opera House..

13th January at 2.30 at The Library Theatre.  Great Expectations by Charles Dickens.

1st April.      Lowry Theatre.  Birmingham Royal Ballet perform "Pomp and Circumstance".

16th May.   Royal Exchange Theatre at 4.00pm.  'Haunted' by Edna O'Brien.

29th July.   The Theatre by the Lake, Keswick at 2.00pm.  'Summer Lightning' by P.G.Wodehouse.

23rd Sept.   The Theatre by the Lake, Keswick at 2.00pm.
                   'Chorus of Disapproval' by Alan Ayckbourn.

14th Nov.   Bolton Octagon Theatre at 2.00pm.  'Ghosts' by Henrik Ibsen.

2nd Dec.      Lowry Theatre.  The musical 'White Christmas' by Irving Berlin.
