We held a most successful 10th Anniversary Open Day on Wednesday 9th March at High Lane Village Hall.
Mike Long from Central Office Joined us for the Day - (shown on left with Steve Reynolds).
The event attracted considerable interest in the local area and resulted in 47 new members joining.
In all there were 21 tables and displays. The Groups include: Art and
Painting,
Ballroom Dancing, Bowls, Bridge (Beginners and Advanced),
Choral Singing, Church History and Pub Visits, Family History, German,
Holidays and Days Out, Music Appreciation, Needlework, Reading, Table
Tennis, Theatre Matinee, Walking (Short and medium distance) Philately,
Philosophy, Luncheon and Discussion groups, and Website. Councillor
Chris Baker also visited & awarded several competition prizes
(shown right centre).
Derek Jones and his small team are to be congratulated on a very well organised event.
For those who need assistance High Lane U3A is planning a repeat course
on Computing for Beginners which has been very successful in the past
and has been requested by new members.
